I’d just like to apologize right off the bat because I have been MIA this month. I bet you’re all just as busy — what with Christmas being only 15 days away! Can you believe it? I started shopping early this year, so I’ve only got the hardest people left to buy gifts for… and they’re all men. What do you men want?!
Anyway, one thing I’m always right on time doing is decking out our tiny little apartment in as much Christmas garb as it can possible handle. This year, all the decorations went up the weekend after Thanksgiving — right after I recovered from that food coma and the mad rush of Black Friday.
Awkwardly enough, we have paint damage on our walls from hanging our lights with duct tape last year. If you’re clueless like us, invest in some wall hooks! We got ours from Home Depot — where we also found this little beauty…
Yes, our tree! Since Jake and I live in a tiny little apartment, we like to buy our Christmas trees from the 3 – 5ft. section. I may say this every year, but our little guy looks perfect. We also finally invested in a mini tree skirt… I didn’t know they made them that small!
A Christmas tradition that has been in my family ever since I can remember is that we always listen to Christmas music while we decorate the tree. While Michael Buble’s Christmas album always makes up a substantial part of my Christmas mix, this year I’m happy to welcome Sam Smith’s “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” along with Buble’s sassy duet with Idina Menzel in “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”
Below are just a few of my favorites. If you’re on Spotify, you can see the whole playlist here!
- Baby It’s Cold Outside – Idina Menzel, Michael Buble
- Jingle Bells – Michael Buble feat. The Puppini Sisters
- Blue Christmas – Michael Buble
- Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – Sam Smith
- The Christmas Song – Celine Dion
- O Holy Night – Glee Cast
- Santa Baby – Glee Cast
- Last Christmas – Glee Cast
- All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey

- This Christmas – Christina Aguilera
- Happy Xmas (War Is Over) – John Lennon
Probably one of the hardest decisions I have to make during Christmas time is what goodies I’m planning to bake for all occasions (Christmas parties, Christmas dinner, co-worker gifts, etc.). To help me make these important decisions, I’m creating a Pinterest board in hopes that I’ll become inspired and pick one (or three).
Last year I made peppermint bark brownies, chocolate dipped shortbread cookies — even some red velvet whoopie pies! What are your favorite Christmas recipes? I’d love to hear about them in the comments. Hope you’re enjoying the Christmas season so far! I know I am.
