I’ve been wanting to throw dragon fruit into a smoothie for a long time now, and I’m happy to say this concoction is my second favorite so far out of everything I’ve made (nothing has topped this one yet).
There’s something very unique about dragon fruit — and it doesn’t take a genius to see that. Its pinkish-purple exterior coupled with green spikes makes it look completely different from any other fruit or vegetable in the produce section.
If you can even find it in your local produce section, that is. So after rounding up some other ingredients to pair it with, I decided to make a kale with dragon fruit and banana smoothie.
These are the things you’ll need: 2 leaves of kale (about 1.5 – 2 cups worth), 1 dragon fruit, 1 banana, coconut milk, and ice.
- Add 1 cup coconut milk.
- Add 1.5 – 2 cups of chopped kale.
- Add dragon fruit chunks.
- Add chopped banana.
- Add a handful of ice.
Now after making this smoothie the first time, it was pretty good, but it could use just a tad more sweetness. My suggestion is to add a 1/2 cup of pineapple (because pineapple makes everything better), or you could add a sweetener like honey or something.
