Okay so I know that in a previous smoothie recipe I said that the papaya I added gave the smoothie a delicious flavor. However, as I continued to sample this concoction in larger amounts throughout the day, I’ve decided I was wrong, and I want to apologize if it touched your tongue.
I decided to give papaya one more shot because it is actually really good for you, and the whole point of chugging my greens is to improve my health, so I thought I’d try it with something else — this time I tried kale with pineapple and papaya.
Because let’s be honest, pineapple is a godsend and will make everything taste better. Unfortunately, not even pineapple could defeat the beast that is the papaya.
Reasons I hate papaya:
- It smells funky.
- It’s a pain to cut up.
- It’s mushy.
- It doesn’t even taste good — not even disguised in a yummy pineapple smoothie.
